Movement has always been part of who I am. From the age of four, when my parents enrolled me in ballet classes, I discovered a lifelong love of dance and movement. I studied ballet to Elementary level before expanding into contemporary, jazz and tap, performing in several productions, including two pro-am performances at Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre.
Dance remained a constant throughout my life until I moved to Dover a few years ago. Searching for a new way to keep moving, I noticed a Tai Chi class advertised at my local gym. I had no idea then that stepping into that first class would change the direction of my life. I quickly discovered why Tai Chi is often described as the “Chinese ballet”—its grace, balance and flowing movements felt immediately familiar, while its philosophy and mindfulness opened up a completely new path.
Over the past few years I have immersed myself in the study of Tai Chi and Qigong, training in Yang and Sun styles, sword, fan and a variety of Qigong forms. Through dedicated practice I have experienced remarkable improvements in both my physical health and mental wellbeing. Those benefits inspired me to become a teacher so that I can help others discover the same sense of balance, vitality and enjoyment that Tai Chi and Qigong have brought into my own life.
In 2026 I qualified as a Qigong instructor after an intensive programme of study and assessment. I was also honoured to win two silver medals at the London Tai Chi Championships—one in Tai Chi and one in Qigong. These experiences have strengthened both my understanding of the arts and my passion for sharing them with others.
I believe it is never too late to discover the joy of movement, and I look forward to welcoming you to class and sharing this wonderful journey with you.
